Do You Have An Overactive Bladder?
If you experience a sudden, strong urge to urinate which you are unable to control you may have an overactive bladder.
This could affect your daily activities and you may find yourself either turning down invitations to go anywhere or planning your life around being close to a bathroom. When signals between your bladder and brain tell your bladder to empty even when it is not full or the muscles in your bladder are too active, your bladder could be overactive. Your bladder muscles contract to pass urine before they should causing the sudden, strong urge to urinate.
The first step you should take is to contact your healthcare provider, usually an obstetrician gynecologist (OB/GYN) so that he or she can do an evaluation to see if you can be treated with a prescription or need further testing.
